Meet Agentic AI: The Future of Digital Assistants That Think for Themselves

The evolution and development of artificial intelligence has transformed from being nothing more than a search assistant to Agentic AI functionality.

Agentic AI is more than just a smart tool—it’s a system that can make decisions, take actions, and follow goals without constant human input. This new type of AI is taking the meaning of “assist” to the next level, which could be frightening for some people and very useful for others.

Here are some ways Agentic AI can be helpful.

The system can plan and schedule rescue and repair work, and then route the workers and materials needed to fix the systems on time. Using these systems can accelerate recovery time and bring utilities back to those who have lost them much sooner. These systems can also be used to meet regulatory requirements and contact customers with special needs and medical conditions.

Defense and military logistics

Military logistics and planning still requires personnel decisions and involvement, but advanced AI systems can be used to create a highly complex military task that involves moving materials, equipment and troops using multiple means of transport across various distances. It’s in the pilot phase in some areas but can be used to help bring troops and equipment from various locations to one area for training objectives and military movements. This is intended as an augmentation to human leaders, not a replacement for them.

Improve customer service

Using Agentic AI, human employees at a customer service center can have the answers faster and pass those answers on to the customer to help them out. This can reduce time on hold for customers and allow customer service teams to get the job done much faster than before. Additionally, this AI can serve customers at levels that human employees and traditional AI cannot. An example would be suggesting ways for a customer with high utility bills to lower their costs.

Supply chain and logistics

AI is already a huge part of supply chain and logistics, but taking this further could mean identifying areas of concern and taking action to correct issues in order to avoid any disruptions in the movement of materials and processes. This saves time and energy and keeps things flowing along nicely.
